The Weatherization Program Assistant provides administrative, office and technical support to facilitate the smooth operations of the Gogebic Ontonagon Community Action Agency’s Weatherization Program in Gogebic and Ontonagon counties.  Must be neat, organized, resourceful and innovative, detail oriented, a team player and capable of independent work.   Computer skills are required.  Ability to acquire Energy Auditor Certificate (training provided).  Must have a valid driver’s license and the flexibility to travel overnight, including weekends.  Background check is required.  Education: Associate’s Degree or a Technical/Trade School Degree in Carpentry, Construction or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Title:  Ontonagon Coordinator
1 position in Ontonagon County – Ontonagon, MI
Non-exempt, Employee-at-will, will work up to 24 hours/week (Tue., Wed., Thurs.)
Starting wage $20.61 per hour

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Ontonagon Coordinator is the main access point for community residents who are seeking assistance through Agency programs.  The Coordinator is responsible for the direct programming of Client Advocacy, Emergency Needs, Tax Assistance, general Financial Counseling, and the Commodity Program.  The Coordinator is the central intake staff for Agency programs and assists clients with the application process to access the various programs with the Agency. The  Coordinator will be the primary contact at the Community Action Building in Ontonagon for activities related to building use by outside sources and functions related to maintenance of the buildings. Under general supervision of the Senior Program Director and written instructions, manages senior nutrition site ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies. Takes meal reservations and notifies restaurant of number of meals to be served (home delivered included).  Will also set up and sanitize tables and counter tops, arrange silverware, napkins, trays and makes coffee.  Must be neat, dress appropriately for the position and be a team player.  Background check is required. Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent organizational, computer and clerical skills.  Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels. Ability to understand directions and follow through with them with minimal supervision.  High school graduate or equivalent.  Minimum of one-year background training and/or experience in the field related to human services.  Must be willing to learn Federal rules and regulations. Must have a valid driver’s license and have dependable transportation with current proof of insurance.

Job Title:  Outreach Worker
1 position in Ontonagon County – Ewen, MI
Non-exempt, Employee-at-Will; will work up to 8 hours/week based on funding
Starting wage $18.43 per hour plus mileage ($0.67/mile)

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the ideal candidate will have experience in social services and skills to perform one-on-one interviews with clients. The Outreach positions are the main access point for community residents who are seeking assistance through Agency programs; assistance is provided to clients with the application process. Strong data entry skills, interpersonal skills, and telephone etiquette a must. Ability to understand directions and follow through with them with minimal supervision.  Minimum of one year background training and/or experience in the field related to human services preferred. Travel is sometimes required. Must be able to work in a team setting with outreach workers. Must have dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license. Background check is required.  Job Title:  SUBSTITUTE Home Delivered Meal Driver – Ironwood, Bessemer,Wakefield areas
Non-exempt, Employee-at-will.  Part-time position, Mon-Thurs 3.5 hrs. per day 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Starting wage $13.42/hr.;  plus mileage ($0.67/mile)

Delivers meals to senior meal participants.  Assists in filling meal trays if needed, packs meals in carriers, delivers meals, clean and sanitize carriers.  Must be neat, organized, dress appropriately for the position, and be a team player.  Ability to understand directions and follow through with them with minimal supervision. Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.  Must have dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license and current proof of insurance. Background check is required. Education: High school graduate or equivalent; minimum 18 years of age.
